Jojo

“Jojo” is inspired by powerhouse and icon Josephine Baker and my grandmother, whose nickname has been Jojo for as long as I can remember. The dancers play with imaginary conflicts and stories to share common ground. There is a sense of unserious competition that ultimately creates encouragement.

This piece was shown at the Boston Conservatory’s Winterworks show after a preliminary adjudication. Jojo is always available to be revived!
